1-STOP GRAPHICS & DISTRIBUTION FAQ

WHAT IS DISTRIBUTION?

Let's start by defining distribution in the music industry. Distribution is placing your genre of music, product into a division of categories or a classification. It is the process of marketing and supplying goods, especially to retailers and individual consumers.

HOW DO I BEGIN THE PROCESS OF DISTRIBUTION WITH 1-STOP GRAPHICS & DISTRIBUTION?

For distribution consideration, contact one of our representatives by calling our central office at: 713-807-STOP (7867) or by emailing us at: info@1stopdistribution.com and request our New Music Submission Form. The form can be mailed, faxed or emailed to your attention.

  • WHAT TYPE OF MUSIC DOES 1 STOP GRAPHICS & DISTRIBUTION INTERESTED IN DISTRIBUTING?

Simple, marketable music with an attack business plan and a significant budget. Whether its Rock, Gospel, R & B, Rap / Hip Hop, Soul, Zydeco, Jazz, Classical, Pop, etc. marketable music is one of the factors. However, great music without a plan or a budget is just great music and not a return on investment (ROI) as intended. If you're not willing to invest into your own project, you're not ready for distribution.  From our research every distributor is different. Some want labels or artists with previous, successful releases. We too seek companies and artists with proof of prior sales as well. However, we're known for our trademark strategies on launching new artists and products with track record of successes.

  • IS THERE A SETUP FEE?

Yes. 1-Stop charges a one-time setup fee of $5,000 per project. New title registration is a conventional and absorbing process that requires 45 to 75 days for completion. 1 Stop Graphics & Distribution and our outlets require that time frame for product placement. This includes but not limited to hands on entry into 1 Stop Graphics & Distribution catalog and the accounting system, making sure the product is retail ready.  In addition, label or the artist must provide proof of a substantial budget for marketing and promotions, and invest into the marketing and promotional programs with our outlets.

  • HOW DO YOU SELECT THE TITLES YOU DISTRIBUTE?

1-Stop Graphics & Distribution takes into consideration all the factors of the prospective clients presentation to determine if the product is saleable.  Whether the artist is new or established. Were not interested in labels and artists who solely become content with their product and decide their end of the project is done.  Were interested in companies and artists who bring life to the product and keep it alive!  A good business oriented minded company or person is a plus as well.

  • WHAT ARE MY RESPONSIBILITIES AS A NEW VENDOR TO 1-STOP GRAPHICS & DISTRIBUTION?

You, the Vendor, will have several responsibilities. You are responsible for creating a reasonable demand for a point-of-purchase (POP) sale. 1 Stop Graphics & Distribution will place your product into the brick and mortar stores, online digital distribution services, Ringtones, etc. However, it is the responsibility of the Vendor to generate the demand for product. In addition, 1-Stop Graphics & Distribution will advise you of the many marketing and promotional programs available to assist in creating a demand of product. You will also need to provide us with your tour information, radio campaigns (which cities or countries), benefits, etc. for product placement in those targeted areas. We need to work in conjunction with you prior to and during your promotional appearances. A key factor in gaining successful distribution services largely depends on the Vendor / Distributor work relation. The two must work hand-in-hand so to speak towards a common goal, and that is build great work ethics and to sell the product.

  • WHAT ARE THE RESPONSIBILITIES OF 1-STOP GRAPHICS & DISTRIBUTION?

1 Stop Graphics & Distribution is responsible in making sure your product is in stores prior to release date. Were responsible for fulfilling orders whether it is online or direct sales. Were responsible to keep you informed of product sales, returns, back orders, among other contractual agreement made.

  • HOW LONG WILL IT TAKE TO GET MY PRODUCT INTO STORES?

1 Stop Graphics & Distribution and our outlets requires six to eight (6-8) weeks days for product placement. This includes but not limited to hands on entry into 1 Stop Graphics & Distribution catalog and the accounting system, making sure the product is retail ready. However, this process can be shortened if there is a sudden demand for the product from customers visiting stores, a title single is in airplay rotation, major concert, etc. In these instances, 1 Stop Graphics & Distribution can place your product into stores in a matter of a few days.

  • HOW MANY CD'S SHOULD I PRESS TO GET STARTED?

If you are a fairly new artist, we recommend that you begin with 1,000 CD's. We also advise that your product be manufactured not duplicated. Duplicated (burned) CD's sometimes will not play in all CD player systems, and that can cause some difficulties in trying to gain new customers / fans. First impressions are lasting impressions!

  • WHAT SUGGESTED BUDGET SHOULD I BEGIN WITH FOR RETAIL PROMOTION OF THE PRODUCT?

It depends on your target market, your available funds for a campaign launch, implementing the marketing plan, label and/or artist notoriety, etc. A reasonable cost effective marketing plan is almost as important as is the amount of money you utilize. In today's market, because of soaring price increases across the board of all products (i.e.) food, clothes, transportation, etc; to launch a regional campaign, we suggest a minimum budget of $10,000 for a local release and a minimum of $35,000 for a regional release. National and International releases realistically start at six and seven figure amounts. Remember, what you put into your product is what you will get out of it.  1-Stop Graphics & Distribution offers several great marketing & promotions plan opportunities available in a detailed discussion with the client.

  • WHEN DO I RECEIVE MY FIRST CHECK?

Distributors usually issue checks in ninety (90) days to vendors who have generated record sales. With some new artists release, the distributor may offer extended payment terms to the stores to create an extended opportunity of sales in which an additional fifteen (15) days is required for issuance of payment.  All payments are made upon the contractual agreement of the selected pricing schedule by the vendor and distributor.

  • WHATS THE DIFFERENCE BETWEEN A 1 STOP OUTLET AND A DISTRIBUTOR?

Don't let our name fool you! 1 Stop Graphics & Distribution is a classic distributor. A (1Stop) is a type of distributor that re-sales CDs major and independent titles and does not have exclusivity.  This is not the case with our company 1-Stop Graphics & Distribution. We offer only exclusive rights to distribute product from major and independent labels and artists, and we place your product into the major chain retail stores. By providing exclusive rights to the vendor to distribute your product, you now have more control over your project and diminishes some, not all of the piracy practiced in todays’ market. We also can provide Micro-marketing, retail store advertising, digital download services, etc.

There are many phases of distribution, marketing, promotions, and sales.  Were always here to assist you in gaining the needed knowledge of the process of distribution. Our lines of communication remain open for our clients 24/7.
